Folkestone is a great place for fossils. You'll find ammonites, belemnites and gastropods in abundance. Plus other less common fossils including corals, fish, crustaceans, and marine reptiles. You'll even find shark teeth!
Philip's guide is A5 size, 148 pages long, and is packed with numerous colour photos for easy identification, and plenty of useful background information. The info includes (amongst other things) the geology of the place, a reconstruction of environments that the geology represents, curation of your finds, and exactly where to find the fossils (map provided).
This is a great little field guide, and is worth having even if you never visit Folkestone, as it's excellent general reference material.
I can just imagine myself sitting on a boulder at Copt Point, Folkestone, eating a sandwich and happily flicking through this book, trying to ID my latest finds.
